This more solemn and reflective worship service is an intimate commemoration of the institution of one of our Christian sacraments, the Lord's Supper. Our Maundy Thursday service is held at table to evoke the Last Supper, and commemorates that event and our Lord's subsequent Passion, held in our sanctuary. The service will include the Lord's Supper "in remembrance of him", followed by a Tennebrae (shadows) commemoration of Jesus' last words from the cross as we darken the sanctuary before we part.

During the 40 days of Lent, we commit ourselves to prayer, spiritual self-examination, repentance, and renewal of our relationship with our God, as we prepare for the celebration of our highest holy day, the Resurrection of the Lord/Easter Sunday. This shorter worship service with scripture and a brief message concludes the imposition of ashes on the forehead or hand, an ancient Biblical symbol of repentance before God.
