This Sunday, December 27th, Union Church of Bay Ridge members and friends are invited to try a new virtual worship experience. Each year, the Sunday after Christmas typically sees the pastor and Minister of Music on vacation, and this is true again this year. Given the circumstances of the pandemic, and our return to virtual worship, worship at UCBR wasn’t feasible. So instead, in the spirit of Christmastide, Pastor Bob and the Session are encouraging everyone to experience a wonderful Christmas production from our sister church in Manhattan, Broadway Presbyterian Church. The service is, for lack of a better term, a fantastic Christmas variety show. There are beloved secular songs of the season performed in a variety of eclectic ways by stage and film actors and members of the Broadway church, interspersed with meaningful reflections on Christmas traditions, and even an off-the-chain fruitcake cooking class. The production culminates in a few traditional Christian hymns, as well, and so provides some reverent and worshipful moments. It’s beautiful and fun, and at moments, wild; the link is provided below. Keep in mind that the show is a fund-raiser for their church, so please do not feel obligated to donate; we'd of course prefer that you give to Union Church, which you can do on our website home page. For those who prefer a more traditional worship, feel free to stream Broadway’s Sunday worship service, available through their livestream page, below.

UCBR will return to the usual worship schedule with our online service on January 3rd at 11 a.m., at which we’ll observe virtual communion.
