Union Church Christmas Concert

This holiday season, the Union Church of Bay Ridge Chorus brings you Christmas classics by Vivaldi and Saint-Saëns. Vivaldi’s Winter, composed in 1721, will feature Momenta Quartet violinist Alex Shiozaki as the soloist of this virtuosic and fiery violin concerto, accompanied by the UCBR Strings and Music Director Nana Shi on harpsichord.

Though written a century later, Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël (1858) harkens back to the choral music of the Baroque. After a prelude by organ and strings, this tender and beautiful work builds from vocal soloists to the full UCBR Chorus in the final movements. Featured on organ is David Shuler, the Director of Music and Organist of The Church of Saint Luke in the Fields in Manhattan.

Featured Soloists: Alex Shiozaki, Violin; Chelsea Feltman & Kristina Bachrach, Sopranos; Julia Tang, Alto; Scott Morwitz, Tenor; Angky Budiardjono, Baritone/Bass

Nana Shi, Music Director; David Shuler, Organ
